LVDT Probe Setter Micrometer Head (350-711)

The LVDT Probe Setter is used to qualify a probe. By doing so, the amount of stroke that is actually used or required for a probe to capture a particular measurement feature is set. The stroke used by the probe is divided by the resolution of a system to determine the measurement accuracies that can be attained. For example, by setting the working range (or qualifying a probe) over a .005" range versus a .050" range will increase the accuracy of each probe reading by a factor of 10. Setting the working range, or qualifying a probe, simply sets the minimum and the maximum reading for each LVDT measurement channel.
